Horse Quality Hay

Due to the drought, we had to do something to make sure we have quality hay for all the boarded horses here. So we are going North to get Orchard / Timothy Grass Hay. This is very good quality hay that everyone in the northern states feed their horses. The hay is better protein and has more digestible fiber so it is better for the horses. A lot of people in northern states never feed their horses grain because they have such good hay.

See the pictures below of the fields the hay was cut from and pictures of the hay itself. We are feeding it to all the horses here. It is more leafy then coastal and takes them longer to eat because they have to chew the hay instead of just ingesting it, but all the horses here are doing great eating this hay. Besides, this is the only kind of hay all the northern states feed to their horses.
